Back then, I used to avoid trainer battles just to beat the Pokemon version game. This resulted in my Pokemon team not being able to beat the Elite Four easily.

Tip: Never avoid battling trainers. This will make your Pokemon team weak, and not be able to defeat the Elite Four members easily.
