Resident Evil 4:

You received a few new weapons, purchase a lot of different weapons, and upgrade them with a lot of money. The inventory has a huge amount of space to carry some weapons, ammos, and grenades.

When you find treasures, you can combine them into expensive treasures to make a lot of money by selling them. The currency is called PTAs.

Resident Evil 5:

You received a lot of different weapons, purchase a few new ones, and upgrade them with a small amount of money.

The inventory has improved by having a player, and cpu ally shared the same inventory by holding an increased amount of ammo for certain weapons, a decrease for a few, and x5 per each type of grenades.

But, as you go to the shop/inventory screen. You have a lot of inventory slots to carry all your equipment, including your treasures. You can find treasures, but you can’t combine them to make a lot of money, but can sell them for a decent amount of money. The currency is called gold.
